Gwen Stefani X Urban Decay

Now, when I saw the first pictures of the Gwen Stefani X Urban Decay I got a little bit excited. Do I like eyeshadow? Yes. Do I like Urban Decay? Yes. Do I like Gwen Stefani? Yes. To me this was something I absolutely had to have and I've waited patiently (ish) for the UK release.... Finally its here! Hurrah!!

I think Gwen Stefani was the perfect person to design this palette, she's a modern day beauty icon and her make up always looks gorgeous and compliments her perfectly. Seriously, does that woman ever age? I remember watching No Doubts Don't Speak video on Top of the Pops when I was little and I swear she looks just as good, if not better, now.

The palette is eye catching with a black and white polka dot pattern and has extra details in gold. One thing I am so pleased about is that it has a giant mirror inside, there is nothing more annoying than getting a new eyeshadow palette and finding it has a stupidly small mirror that you can't get any use of. So far, so good!

It contains 15 shadows with a mixture of shades designed by Gwen and some from Urban Decay's permanent range. I love that the Gwen inspired ones have names that relate to her and No Doubt such as Steady, Harajuku and Bathwater. The shades are mainly neutrals, which is great because it means I'll get loads of use out of it, with 3 brighter colours chucked in. I'm not sure how much I'll use the bright colours to be honest but its nice to have the option. I also love that this palette comes with a matte black shadow as it always come in so handy. My favourite colour so far is Punk, its a lovely dark purple, brown shade that I've been using in the outer corner and underneath my eyes as a liner. As with all Urban Decay shadows they are really easy to use, the colours come out well and have a lovely finish.

Unfortunately, there is one downside with this palette and its the shade Pop. I don't really know whats going on with this colour or how it made its way into the palette but there it is so I can't not comment on it. Looking at it it looks really pretty and sparkly however the colour pay off of this shadow is non existent, the only thing it does is leave glitter everywhere, its so crumbly that I'll be steering clear.

That aside, on the whole I LOVE this palette, it was worth the wait and I would recommend it to anyone. If you love Urban Decay you will not be disappointed and I really do think you could use this for any occasion, the amount of looks you could create are endless. The price is £40 which is fairly similar to other palettes from Urban Decay so thats a bonus too.

Another exciting thing I got with my palette are samples of four of the lipsticks that are being released early next year. I believe all together there will be eight in the range and, other than one, it looks as though they will all be bold shades which is what Gwen is known for best when it comes to her make up!

You better get this one on the Christmas list as its Limited Edition so it won't be around long- time to throw a few hints to your nearest and dearest!

Jasmine Xx
