Make up I loved in 2015

Deciding on which products I wanted to talk about in this post was difficult, I've got into so many new things this year and tried out loads that have been on my wishlist but after much pondering I whittled it down to twelve things. This is going to be a long one.......

Nails- Essie Nail Polish

Just my all time favourite nail polishes, they have a huge colour range, last well and are only £7.99 which I think it so good. I also really like the non fussy packaging on these. I have around 20 of the colours now so I just thought I would mention 3 that I used a lot in 2015-Fiji is an almost white, light pink shade which is a cult colour, Splash of Grenadine is a cute purple/ pink colour and Divebar which is a deep green shimmery shade, its very mermaid like.

Left to right: Fiji, Splash of Grenadine and Divebar

Contour kit- Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow

Again, I dedicated a whole post to this so I'll keep this short and sweet..... Amazing product. Amazing packing. Get it. Now.

Foundation- Nars Sheer Glow

Nars products aren't easy to get hold of where I live so this is something I had wanted a long time and it was so worth the wait! I wasn't sure it would look good on my combination skin or if I would like the finish, I normally like really matte stuff. However this completely converted me and since I got this Ive definitely eased off the powdery look!

Highlighter- Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

This is just the most gorgeous highligher I have EVER used, I am so pleased it's now finally available in the UK. I did a whole post on this not too long ago so I won't go on and on and on about it again, if you read that you'll get how much I like this product. I do have to say though I have thrown all my other highlighters aside since I got this and on some days I've definitely over done the application on this but I don't even care!

Concealer- Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

I don't normally get excited about concealer but I cannot work out the magic that is in this one, its so light but covers everything! Sinks into the skin like an absolute dream.

Primer- Mac Oil Control Lotion

Technically I don't think this is a primer but I use it as one so I thought I'd mention it. I do get quite oily skin and I find this works a treat at keeping it at bay and it smells really nice.

Clockwise: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, Nars Sheer Glow, Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, Mac Oil Control Lotion and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

Eyeshadows- Mac

Now this was a tough one because I've got a few new palettes this year which I have been really impressed with and use a lot (Too Faced Chocolate Bar, Stila In The Light and The Balm Nude Tude) but these are the shadows I always go back to. I have one of the custom palettes from Mac which is a genius idea- you buy the empty palette and insert and then you can pick which shades you want. I guess this is the reason I like it so much, they're all shades I've picked out, the quality is good and whenever I travel this is the one I take.

Mascara- Too Faced Better Than Sex

I normally stick to mascara from Boots, Superdrug etc but so many people were raving about this so I caved. I've gone through 2 tubes this year, it adds so much volume and really does make your lashes look massive. A tip with this is to let it dry out a little, its never that good when you first use it but after a few days its so much better. I have 2 tiny complaints with this- the fact that it does crumble ever so slightly once its been on several hours and the awful name! But on the whole I think most people would like this.

Eyeliner- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

I've also worked my way through two of these babies this year. The name 'Stay All Day' hits the nail on the head, I've even slept in this and its still resembled a winged liner in the morning. It's easy peasy to use and you can create a super thin or thick line with it.

Eyebrows- Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade

This product can make even the scruffiest brows look good. You need a very light hand with this and it works best when built up, I learnt that lesson the hard way and sported some very harsh looking brows when I first got it. But you live, you learn and all that. Such a tiny amount is needed that I genuinely have no idea how anyone ever finishes one of these things up.

Lip liner- Mac Lip Pencil

I've always had a few lip liners in my collection but this was the year where I really got in to them, particularly the Mac ones. My fave 3 this year were Spice, Soar and Whirl- the classics! I spent much of 2015 hunting down these 3 pencils but I'm very glad I eventually got them. Kylie Jenner eat your heart out.

Lipstick- Mac Brave

Now this is a big claim from someone who obsesses over lipstick like I do... Mac Brave is my all time favourite lipstick. Its just the perfect pink shade! I wear it in the day mostly but it also works well in the evening with a dark, smokey eye. I also wanted to give Velvet Teddy a mention as its running a close second.

Lipliners top to bottom: Whirl, Spice and Soar. Lipstick left to right: Brave and Velvet Teddy

Right, so that's everything and if you read the whole post thanks! Haha. I'm hoping 2016 brings lots of new make up discoveries my way and would love if you left me some suggestions.

Thanks so much for reading this year, I've really enjoyed getting my blog started and can't wait to build on it.

I hope you all have an amazing 2016 :)
