Spring Series Part 2- Getting Lippy!

Time for part deux of my mini series on make up products I love for Spring. On Sunday I talked about cheek products so go and check that out if you haven't already by clicking here. As you've probably already guessed today we're focusing on lip products, my favourite beauty items ever! I'm surprised at how streamlined I've managed to keep this..

You may have noticed by now I like Mac lipsticks, a lot, probably too much, so its only right I have ones for all seasons and occasions! Mac Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lady At Play is something that always puts in an appearance in the warmer months. Its a pretty coral/ orange colour thats bright but not too bright if that makes sense? The formula of this range is great too, its a shame this isn't mentioned more as it is such a lovely lippy. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative I recommend the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 37 which is similar but a bit brighter and more on the orange side.

Mac Speed Dial (yes another Mac, sorry!) is a light blue toned pink and I find it very flattering on my skin tone. I really should make a point of wearing this all year round *note to self* as its soooo pretty, I've definitely been having a pink moment lately. It's a Cremesheen finish which I have to admit I'm not massively keen on, from Mac I definitely prefer the Satin and Matte finishes as I find they last so much better on the lips. Saying that this does hang around for a decent amount of time before it needs a top up and when the colour is this cute it can be excused.

I'm not much of a gloss girl but I do love the ones Nyx make, they have such a great colour range and lovely, non sticky formulas. The Nyx Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler is perfect for Spring time, its a bright peachy/ coral shade. I love how pigmented this is so even when the glossiness wears off there is still some colour left on the lips, plus it smells like a vanilla cupcake- make up that smells like cake always gets a thumbs up from moi. What is there not to like with this? Even better Nyx glosses are so cheap and now available from Boots.

Even though I wear corals and oranges A LOT in the Spring there are of course days I want something easy and fuss free so I'll reach for a good old nude. Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer in Melon Pop and Mac Shy Girl are perfect at this time of the year. Shy Girl is a very pale coral nude which I like to wear with a simple bronze eye and Melon Pop is something I slathered on my lips again and again last year. The Clinique Lip Pops really are completely fuss free as they have a built in primer so none of this faffing with scrubbing lips and moisturising them first- winner!

I thought I'd chuck in one that isn't a nude or coral shade to mix it up a bit and the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in 810 Orchid is an in your face, unique colour. It's somewhere in between a purple and a pink which I really like, especially on a brave day. I tend to pair this with a very simple eye look, maybe even just a bit of black liner, as I want the lipstick to do all the talking. The formula is really lightweight on the lips and I find them quite moisturising too which is good, no dry lips with this! However, if you're sensitive to smells I would give this a sniff before you buy it- they have a strong, Playdough-like scent which I have to admit took a little bit of getting used to. The smell is forgivable though for a colour that is such a stand out.

L-R Clinique Melon Pop, Revlon Orchid, Mac Speed Dial, Mac Lady At Play, Nyx Peach Cobbler, Mac Shy Girl and Rimmel Kate Lipstick 37

What are your lip picks for the warmer weather? Do you love any of these ones?
