Nyx haul!

You may have noticed lately that I have been buying a tonne of stuff from Nyx and that shows no signs of changing, I just bloody love this brand and can't get enough. I went to IMATS recently (for those of you that don't know, IMATS is a make up trade show) and I absolutely had to visit the Nyx stand first to feed my addiction. I'm glad I did as by the time myself and my friend Emma had raided the display the queue was huge! Seems I am not the only one with a love affair for this brand. Anyway, let me show you all what I got....

I've heard nothing but good things about the HD range so I picked up a couple of bits, firstly I got the pressed HD Finishing Powder in Translucent and I've been using this to set my foundation and concealer. So far I really like it, it leaves a nice finish to the skin and smoothes everything out. I also got 3 of the HD Photogenic Concealers, I've been using the lightest shade under my eyes to conceal any dark circles, I find it blends in to the skin well, not quite as well as the Urban Decay Naked concealer but this is a pretty good budget alternative. I really wanted to try the HD Blushes so got the shade Hamptons as it'll be really pretty in the summer. I haven't actually used this yet but it seems pretty pigmented and I've had a Nyx blush before in the old style packaging which I loved so I have high hopes.

This next product is like a dream come true for a pasty girl such as myself, I have a constant battle with foundations, my skin is so light that I get super paranoid my make up looks too dark a lot of the time. I had heard Nyx did foundation drops so when I saw the Pro Foundation Mixer in White it went into my basket without much thought! Genius. They also do darker shades so its really useful for customising your own foundation.

Lets get on to lip products as Nyx do these SO incredibly well and I couldn't resist adding to my collection. First up I got two more of the Soft Matte Lip Creams, the smell of these never disappoints me so sweet and vanilla-ry. Copenhagen is a colour I have wanted forever, its always sold out so I was pleased to see this waiting for me, its a gorgeous deep, berry shade. Rome is a colour I hadn't heard too much about but it just really caught my eye, its a very 'me' colour being a deep browney-mauve (you may notice a theme in this haul). Love it.

I have been wearing the Liquid Suede shade Sandstorm for weeks now so I was on the hunt for Soft Spoken which is another mauvey-pink shade (I did warn you). One of my lovely friends also got me Vintage for my birthday which is a deep, vampy red shade. I'm a big fan of the Matte Lipsticks so decided to pick up Eurotrash which I've wanted for a while, you guessed it- its a brown/ mauve shade! I have problems I know.

I've been so impressed with the lipliners and eyeliners I've tried in the past so of course I wanted to get a few more. I got the Slide On, Glide On Eyeliner in Golden Bronze which is just gorgeous for the summer and this has already become a regular in my make up routine. I think these eyeliners are really similar to the Urban Decay ones just for a lot less pennies, they're so shimmery and strong in colour they're just gorgeous! The 'Slide On, Glide On' pencils also come in lipliner form so naturally I had to get a couple, they're all matte which is right up my street. I haven't tested these out too much yet but they are very creamy and smooth which I like. I decided to go for a nude, every day shade- Nude Suede Shoes and a deep, dark shade- Dark Soul this one will look good with so many of my Autumn/ Winter lip looks.

Last but not least I got one of the Tame & Frame Brow Pomades. I recently spoke about how I couldn't find a brow product I liked more that then Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, I know I haven't ventured particularly far by getting another pomade BUT since I got this one I have been using it A LOT. It glides on so smoothly and is really easy to work with, sometimes I find the Anastasia one can get a little messy if you're not careful and go in with a heavy hand but I haven't had that issue with this one so watch out, there may be a new eyebrow favourite in town.....

Enjoy the rest of your week,

  1. I have a bit of NYX obsession too. I loved everything I've so far from them. Their HD line is brilliant. I have that powder but in the yellow shade which is great for setting my under eye concealer. I love the suede lipsticks too. I need to try the Tame and Frame, i've heard nothing but good things xx
