The Autumn make up update- lips

For me Autumn lips are all about the rusty reds and vampy shades, they're just so effortlessly glam right? Now, in all honesty, I own tonnes of these shades, too many but I have whittled it down to a few that I just love. Enjoy!

Of course I had to chuck in a couple of Mac lipsticks first, the ones to make the cut were Studded Kiss and Chilli. Both of these are matte finishes so they last for ages on the lips and give that really bold finish. Studded Kiss is a gorgeous, deep shade that paired with gold eyes on a night out looks amaaaazing and is a look I will definitely be going for over the Christmas period. Chilli is one of those rusty, red/orange shades, I think this is great because it gives a twist on the traditional red lip and on a fair skin tone its really complimentary.

Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Craft is another deep shade, this formula sets down on the lips and last through drinking and eating which is great for a dark shade as its so damn noticeable when they start wearing off! Another one that is perfect for a night out.

As much as I love bold lips sometimes I don't want to go all out so if you're looking for something thats maybe more subtle then there are two I can recommend. The Nars Velvet Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita is a pretty good choice, it gives a nod to those Autumnal colours in a lovely muted red shade. The good thing about these pencils too is that for matte colours they are just so god damn comfortable to wear, so light and they don't dry your lips at all. When I wear this I find myself reapplying it all the time, not because it needs it, but because its so nice to apply. For a budget option the Nyx lippie in Sierra works a treat.

I have to admit the next two are pretty similar in colour both being vibrant, berry shades and also both are matte finishes (noticing any trends in my picks for this post?). Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte lipstick in Divine Wine was all over the blogosphere last Autumn, I remember thinking 'I need that in my life' so of course I treated myself. This year I am still all over it, its bloody beautiful! Saying that Charlotte Tilbury's Love Liberty is also bloody beautiful. Like I said, the shades are fairly similar, I'd say the CT one is slightly lighter and has the signature rose gold packaging.

Last but not least is another Maybelline product (if you haven't checked out their lip products before then you must, right now!). The Vivid Matte in Possessed Plum is a plum shade, obviously, and has a lovely velvet finish. Velvet is everywhere right now for clothing so why not include it in your make up?

Mac Studded Kiss, Mac Chilli, ABH Craft, Nars Dolce Vita, Nyx Sierra, Maybelline Divine Wine, Charlotte Tilbury Love Liberty and Maybelline Possessed Plum
Until next time my loves!
