Maybelline Lash Sensational review

I am a creature of habit when it comes to mascara (Too Faced Better Than Sex is my fave as you may well know) but there is one that I just kept hearing about again and again and again- Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara. I was in the market for a new one so figured I would give it a try as its so damn popular.

As with all Maybelline products this mascara is pretty inexpensive at £7.99 which compared to the £19 I pay for the Too Faced one is a lot more purse friendly. On the label it says the 'lash multiplying brush' makes 'lashes look visibly multiplied and fuller' which for me is exactly what I'm looking for. My natural lashes are fairly long so lengthening mascaras aren't really what I gravitate towards, I want the volume!!

The packaging is fairly standard of Maybelline, most of their mascaras come in this tube shape, with a pretty lilac shade and black writing. The brush is curved with shorter bristles one side and longer bristles the other. I found this useful to 'scoop' up my lashes and also get in there with the smaller lashes and ones on the lower lash line.

As you can see from the pictures below this mascara really does add loads of volume and I love that its super black to really give that definition. It holds my lashes like that all day so none of that drooping situation occurs- yay! I definitely think you can get away with needing any falsies when wearing this as it pumps them up so much. It also doesn't flake which is an added bonus.

I have one slight bone to pick with this and that is that its pretty difficult to remove. I don't ever really use Benefit's They're Real for that reason, I just got so fed up with battling to remove it that I gave up with it. This one isn't quite as bad as that but it is still fairly stubborn. Having said that for the results this actually gives on lashes that is me being very nit picky but I just wanted to share that point.

Overall I have been loving this so much and I can see what all the fuss is about. I am still loyal to the Too Faced one but I will 100% be repurchasing this as a cheaper alternative too!!

Which mascaras do you love?

  1. I wanted to love this mascara but it just didn't work for me, I tried the waterproof version and it just didn't keep my lashes in place all day, not like The Falsies does. Your lashes look great however!
