Make up bag regulars- drugstore edition!

I haven't done a Make Up Bag Regulars post in foreverrrrr, I don't know what I've been playing at! This time I'm going to do one focussed on drugstore products because I have a fair few of those in my daily make up bag at the mo that I am just LOVING...

Two concealers currently fighting my eye bags and unwelcome spots. First up the ultimate drugstore concealer right? Collection's Lasting Perfection (Fair), I have got through tubes and tubes of this in the past and my love affair with it continues. I love this under my eyes and also on the little beasts that take up residency on my chin every now and again. Ok, so its probably not the most hygienic thing to use a doe foot applicator on spots but what can I say! The second drugstore concealer I find I'm becoming more and more dependent on is the Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 Concealer & Highlighter (Ivory). Back in the day I used to be obsessed with the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation but for some reason had never tried the concealer, since I've got it though I have been loving it for illuminating, again, the eye bag sitch. If I'm having a minimal make up day I use it on its own or on days where I am making a bit more effort I'll apply it over another concealer, like the Collection one.

You're probably sick to death of me going on and on about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte And Poreless Foundation but I'm not sorry. This has totally been my go to foundation of 2017 and I can guarantee it'll be in my yearly favourites. I just love the matte finish of this on my skin as it doesn't make it look completely flat but also as it wears throughout the day, yes the oils start to break through, but it still looks good in a bit more of a glowy way.

My brow duo of choice at the moment are both from Nyx and are the Micro Brow Pencil in Espresso and the Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. This pencil is so thin that it makes getting in there and creating 'hair like' strokes so simple along with the spoolie on the other end which makes my brows look much more presentable. Then I lock it all down with the Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. When I first got this I was unsure I would like it because the wand on it was so big, like a full on mascara wand, but my brows are actually quite big and unruly so its worked a treat. It doesn't leave brows looking wet or feeling crispy either which is never desired is it?

I had been neglecting look after my lips a little lately and was also on the hunt for something that would make matte lipsticks a little bit more comfortable. I remembered I liked one of the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms a few years back but couldn't find the one I had (it was clear and in yellow packaging) so I settled for the Hydrate one instead. It's so hydrating and moisturising on the lips, I just adore it. I put this on every day before I apply my lip product and its working wonders.

I did a review not so long back on some bits I got from Essence and the Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love has become my favourite thing from that post. Its a gorgeous dusty pink and as the name would suggest has a slight sheen to the finish which makes it look like a very natural flush to the skin. For a £1 I really can't fault this one and its become a permanent fixture in my daily make up bag.

Another Maybelline product and another one I've mentioned a thousand time before! The Lash Sensational Mascara has got to be the best drugstore mascara I have tried in a very long time and I'm completely obsessed with it. Since I discovered this I haven't even repurchased my beloved Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, thats how much I like this one people! It gives huge, voluminous, uplifted lashes that just look great all day long.

On the whole bronzers scare me a little, I know that sounds ridiculous but I'm very fair skinned and I always worry they look too harsh or fake on my skin, I'm not one of these people that just happens to look a bit sun kissed on a regular basis. So when I discovered the Soap & Glory Solar Powder I was super happy because it has a light bronze in there and also a darker shade, meaning you can use each individually or mix them to get the ideal shade. Day to day I tend to use the light side but if I'm feeling a bit brave or getting glammed up then I mix in some of the darker tone to add that bit more definition to my face. This powder blends in beautifully so it lovely to work with.

What drugstore products do you have in your daily make up bag at the moment?

  3. I love swirling my brush in the solar powder as it gives the perfect shade for my complexion to do a bit of contouring and bronzing at the same time. I've definitely fallen back in love with it recently
