My capsule travel make up bag

When I say capsule I am well aware that people will expect a small amount of products but for me this is about as capsule as it will ever get! As you read this I'll be away for a long weekend in Portugal and was only able to take hand luggage (always a challenge). Therefore after some deliberating I decided on the make up products that would be accompanying me on my trip. On holiday I wear zero make up during the day but in the evenings I love taking time to put my face on.

The base

It's all about keeping the oils at bay for me in a hot country so I'm taking a few tried and tested products, to prime my skin I'll use Benefit The Porefessional Matte Rescue then I'll go in with either Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless or Mac Studio Fix Fluid. I really couldn't pick between the foundations but both do the trick of keeping me shine free. For concealers I need one for the undereyes which is Collection Lasting Perfection, one for brightening which will be Mac Prep & Prime Radiant Rose and one for any horrible lurkers so I picked out Mac's Studio Finish Concealer Duo. I decided to take a pressed setting powder rather than a loose one to avoid any mess and as you can tell I absolutely love the Nyx HD Finishing Powder as it blurs everything out. I've also packed the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot to take out in my handbag for any touch ups. I've started to get into colour correcting lately and find it particularly helps to take down any redness around my nose so I'm taking the Rimmel Colour Correcting Palette as it has three shades, is small and its compact.

For my cheeks I'll be relying on the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze And Glow Palette for my contouring/ bronzing and highlighting, I love these powders as they blend beautifully and are easy to build up. I decided to take the Essence Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love and Mac's Warm Soul as blush options as I feel they cover all bases- Satin Love is a pink/ mauve and Warm Soul is a pretty terracotta shade.

The eyes

For eyeshadow I had to take my Z-Palette which is full of Mac and Make Up Geek shadows, I have a full post on this if you want to see what shades are in it. I just love how pretty it is *heart eyes*. Before I create some looks with this each night I will be prepping my eyelids with my trusty Mac Paintpot in Painterly.

I've had my brows done especially for my trip so I needed my Freedom Brow Powder Duo and Nyx Control Freak Brow Gel by my side to keep them looking neat and tidy.

I like to open out my eyes as much as I can so I'll line the waterline with the Nyx Wonder Pencil and then I'll apply loads of the L'Oreal Paradise Mascara which is a total dupe of the Too Faced Better Than Sex one. I wasn't sure of the mascara to start with but its growing on me the more I use it.

I have a two black liner options, the first one being the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion which is super intense. I also have a new one to try out! I've heard so many things about the Nyx Matte Liquid Liner so treated myself to it, of course I will report back on what I find. On first impressions it looks like I'll be able to create a really sharp wing as the brush is teeny tiny.

The lips

If you're a regular reader then none of these lipsticks options will surprise you I shouldn't think! Of course I have in there my two favourite liquid lipsticks- Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Marvellous Mauve and Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II. I can't go anywhere without these two! I also chucked in a couple of Mac lippies for good measure- my beloved Velvet Teddy and for a pop of colour Lady Danger. For lipliners I packed three neutrals- Mac Stripdown, Boldly Bare and Soar- all classics and easy to mix and match with the nude lippies. I also packed in Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in High Energy to go with Lady Danger.

Phew! That was a long one I know. What make up products will you be taking on your next trip?
