October faves

October is over already, how has that happened? I love that time of year, all the Autumnal colours and Halloween celebrations remind me of one thing... Christmas is coming!! But before I get too carried away with posts all about the festive time of year let me share what I was loving throughout this past month.

So, I mentioned that I love Autumnal colours- think deep reds, greens and burnt oranges- and the Nyx Matte Lipstick in Sienna fits into that category perfectly. It's a beautiful orange shade that I was reaching for so regularly. It adds the perfect pop of colour to a minimal look and really brightens up your look when the days are gloomy. The formula of these lippies are great, they have a matte finish but don't dry the heck out your lips- ideal in the cold weather!

Whilst we're on Nyx I had to mention the Matte Liquid Liner. I had heard lots of positive things about this liner and haven't been disappointed since getting it for myself. It dries down super matte and also doesn't budge- my eyes water loads in the cold and so far its not let me down. The brush is also teeny tiny with a tapered end which means you can create a very precise line with the perfect flick. Since discovering this I have got back into winged liner in a big way, it just makes it so easy.

I recently did a full review on the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation and seriously can't say enough good things about it. This stuff lasts for ages on my skin and looks so natural making it my new favourite for a day to day foundation. I am absolutely obsessed!!

I've been getting back into Benefit eyebrow products lately and there are two I've been reaching for. The first one is Brow-Zings and in my opinion this is the perfect 'does everything' product. It comes in a little compact (which includes a mirror!), has two little brushes, a mini pair of tweezers, a wax and a powder. I travel a bit with work so this is handy to chuck in my bag and know I have every brow related emergency covered! Next up is Gimme Brow, a tinted brow gel that also adds a bit of volume. I like the little brush on this because you can be really precise with the application. Also, as it has a little colour to it you can use it on its own (hello lazy make up day) or to set your brows after applying other products. If there is one thing Benefit know how to do- its eyebrows.

Finally I have a skin care item. I've been testing out the Elemis Biotec Skin Energising Cleanser and its such a lovely product, its a shame as I've not heard anyone mention it. It has a perfumed scent so if thats not your thing I'd give it a miss but personally I think it smells divine! After removing my make up with this my skin feels so clean and refreshed. It also leaves such a smooth base to then apply make up to. The one I have is a miniature version which I am rationing out as once its gone I'm going to need a full size one in my life.

What were you loving in October?

  1. Oooh curious to try that NYX Matte Liner now. I tried a sample of the UD foundation and it was so patchy on my skin. But I hear so many people rave about it. What's wrong with me?! xxx

    1. Haha! Thats the joy of make up, one thing that works for one person doesn't work at all for another!! Xx
