NYE Party Essentials

The New Year is only a few days away and I have to say I'm really excited for it. I have lots of things planned and ideas for blog posts are flowing! You may have noticed I've been a little quiet on here lately and in all honesty I just needed a blogging break. I made the most of my time off though and taking a step back has really helped me rediscover why I fell in love with blogging in the first place!

Of course though before 2018 gets here I plan on getting dressed up for a few drinks on New Years Eve and with it being party season lately its dawned on me that there are a few products I rely on a lot when it comes to getting glam...

First up is an oldie but a goodie, my beloved Mac Studio Fix Fluid (£23.50) in NW10. Now whilst I don't wear this day to day, as it is a very full coverage, it's my absolute go to for special occassions. It gives a long wearing, matte coverage and makes my skin look completely flawless which is what we all want right? I wouldn't recommend this if you have dry skin as it does cling a little but if you have normal or oily skin then I think you would love it.

The Soap & Glory Kick Ass Instant Retouch Pressed Powder (£12) is in my handbag at all times, not just nights out, because it really is kick ass. As you probably know by now I suffer with an oily t-zone and this slightly yellow toned powder works an absolute dream at getting rid of any unwanted shine.

Unfortunately with the cold nights comes my watery AF eyes therefore I always take a eyeliner with me in case I need to fix any disasters. This year I discovered the Nyx Matte Liquid Liner (£6) and its so amazing, it has a super fine brush which is easy to control meaning you can create the exact line you're after and it dries down super matte. It holds up pretty well on my watery eyes but it never hurts to have it to hand just in case.

My go to lip combo for parties lately has been Mac D For Danger Lipstick (£16.50) and Mac Nightmoth Lip Pencil (£13) as I just love a dark, vampy lip. These two together create the perfect, deep red lip and the longevity is great, especially when you want to have a cocktail or two! In all honesty I don't usually need to reapply this duo much as they stay put very well.

For my falsies I rely on the Duo Brush On Striplash Adhesive (£5.99), I discovered this version a couple of years ago and much prefer it to the regular one which comes in that squeezey tube and goes all over the place. The small brush on this is so much easier to use and you can apply the exact amount you need. After a few seconds the glue in nice and tacky meaning your lashes are down for the night.

I like to be able to top up my scent and carrying around a full size bottle of perfume isn't practical because they're usually quite big and made of glass, not a good combo. This handy little Perfume Pod (£7.99) is ideal for chucking in your bag for a spritz on the go.

Finally now I'm aware these aren't a beauty item as such but are they an essential? Yes! Compeed Blister Plasters (£4.39) are something that I depend on if I'm going to be wearing high heels. They're clear and create a comfortable barrier meaning you can carry on dancing for hours in comfort....well as comfy as you ever can be in heels!

What are your party essentials?
